Plans for meeting 1 and 2

As I wrote in the earlier post, about the rules made for our book discussion club, meeting 1 and 2 have already been decided on.

Please click “Continue reading if you’d like to know the details.

Meeting 1

Date: 17.03.2013, 14:00

Meeting point: Back gate of UNS campus, then we move to different place based on the number of people.

Activity: Everybody present 3 books (comics included) which they like. It may be of whatever type, even the ones we won’t read together, written in any language. You must have read this book before. Please also say few things about author or authors. So, the task is to promote the author and her/his book to others. It doesn’t have to be long, we just need to have a grasp what is this book about.

If you own this book, please take it to the meeting, if possible.

On this meeting we will decide about the topic for meeting 3 (21.04.2013)

Meeting 2

Date: 07.04.2013, 14:00

Meeting point: Back gate of UNS campus, then we move to different place based on the number of people.

Activity: Discussion on short-stories (in English) from the book “A Dip in the Poole – a short story anthology“. I have copied some of the short stories and have given them out on the meeting 0. Whoever doesn’t have them yet, please contact me to get the copy. The book is made as a help for 9 or 10graders, armed with discussion points and “feed for thoughts” so I chose it as our first book, to help us to get the idea of discussing books. The stories are interesting also for older people, I know it. I’ve read this book in February 2013. The original was borrowed from the UPTP2B library.

On this meeting we will also decide about meetings 4 (05.05.2013) and 5 (19.05.2013).
